CREATING URBAN CITY CORRIDORS

We are working with our customers to introduce perennial plants onto their premises that have been highlighted by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) as being 'Plants for Pollinators'.

By utilising car park areas or outdoor land of all sizes, our customers are helping to create a 'rest area' in otherwise concrete environments for bees between green belts and domestic gardens.

YOU CAN HELP BY BUILDING AN AIR BEE 'N BEE!

ATTRACTING BEES TO URBAN AREAS

Bee hotels are designed to provide suitable nesting opportunities for aerial, cavity nesting species that would usually seek out old beetle holes in wood, other small, pre-existing tunnels or hollow plant stems.

Add pollinating perennials to your garden or outdoor area

THEY'LL GROW BACK

YEAR ON YEAR

Many perennial plants are perfect for pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Not only will they add great colour to your outdoor areas but they are hardy and grow back year on year.

NATIONAL ACTION PLANS & STRATEGIES

CALLING US ALL TO WORK TOGETHER

The National Pollinator Strategy for England 2014 sets out a 10 year plan to help pollinating insects survive and thrive across England.

The Action Plan for Pollinators in Wales – Scottish Pollinators Strategy set out similar plans for Wales and Scotland.

These strategies outline actions to support and protect the many pollinating insects which contribute to our food production and the diversity of our environment. They also look to everyone to work together to help our pollinators.

SOLITARY BEES

Great pollinators in orchards. There are around 220 species of solitary bees in Britain and they don’t sting!
